Halloween {bella blvd}

I love Halloween! It's one of the holidays that is just laid back and and fun. We host a small party on the day, and everyone at my job also dresses up and we go out for lunch.

To help celebrate the day on the Bella Blvd blog this week, I made this wine bottle gift tag and card.

Many of you will be invited to a Halloween party this month, and if you do, don't forget the hostess! She'll be worried about any little ones attending the party that day, but likely to appreciate the gift of some wine after the festivities have ended. Mark the holiday with a cute tag for the bottle and you'll be sure to impress.

Supplies: Halloween Magic (Pattern paper: Funny Bones), Chipboard Icons, Paper Pieces Die Cuts, Trinkets

This card makes a great companion with the wine bottle or send it along to a friend. The cute mummy and vampire buddies are sure to bring a smile to your friend's face.

Add A Little Dazzle {fancy pants}

Here's a sneak peek of what I made for today's Fancy Pants Designs blog. We are swapping with Add A Little Dazzle, and I have to admit that I loved this swap. I hadn't worked with these metal sheets before, but now I love them!

The Add A Little Dazzle sheets are made of metal you don't often find in paper crafting. They are strong, flexible, forgiving and easy to work with.

For my project I made two holiday cards using the Oh Deer! collection new from Fancy Pants. Add A Little Dazzle has a wonderful shiny metal on the back of every sheet, as well as rich red and turquoise blue sheets. These went really well with the Oh Deer! sequins, colors and patterns.

October sketch challenge {scrapbook circle}

It's time for another sketch challenge with Scrapbook Circle. Here is this month's sketch I made for you all to play along with.

I just had to use this wonderful navy striped paper from the On This Day kit for my background.

There are so many great embellishments in this month's kit, like the Pinkfresh Studios Wood Drop Stickers.

A fun "today" paperclip pulls the layers together.

Remember our new rule: You no longer need a Scrapbook Circle kit to participate in the challenge and be eligible to win this month's prize, an Elle's Studio Good Cheer Goods prize.

Make sure to play along and share your layout before Oct. 22nd to be eligible to win. You can see more inspiration and link up your layout on the Scrapbook Circle blog.

What's New {bella blvd}

Yesterday I shared this fun holiday layout on the Bella Blvd blog to show off what's new with Bella Blvd. If you haven't selected your holiday collections yet, put Christmas Cheer on your list!

The Christmas Cheer collection is the perfect blend of whimsy and traditional holiday imagery. For this layout, I wanted to capture our fun tradition of Elf on the Shelf.

I started with the green stars background and then layered on some of the more dense patterns, like the plaid and argyle patterns. The pops of red in the collection complimented the little elf in the pictures and helped bring it all together.

I fussy-cut the lettering "celebrate" and "traditions" from the Happy Hearts paper and it worked out perfectly for my title. Coupled with the Merry Merry Christmas die cut and the long title, it anchors the photos in just the right way.

This layout has me in the holiday spirit already. I can't wait to get those cookies and cocoa going!

Supplies: Christmas Cheer: (Pattern paper: Jingle All The Way, Borders Christmas Cheer, Happy Hearts, Making Spirits Bright), Treasures & Text, Paper Pieces and Die Cuts, Trinkets

Thanks for stopping here today. Stop by the Bella Blvd blog to see what else is going on there this week.

Now for this month's theme: Halloween

I used this month's free file and made a Halloween decoration. It is an old liquor bottle filled with purple water (I used food coloring) and a glow stick.

The spiders are glued on using Jumbo Zots and the "spooky" and spider web are cut from vinyl on the Cameo.

I added some enamel stars (from Jillibean Soup) for some added color and layering.

World Card Making Day {bella blvd}

Happy World Card Making Day! Today Bella Blvd is sharing cards hour-by-hour for inspiration as so many of us are sitting down to make cards today.

Here are two cards I made to mark the occasion.

I love the monotone colors for this card for Halloween and using conversation bubbles is an easy way to show a two-part sentiment without putting the second part inside the card.

Supplies: Bella Blvd Itty Bitty by Unity (Shake Your Bootie stamps) Halloween Magic: (Pattern Paper: Boo Buddies, Borders Halloween Magic)

The snow globe scene is just too cute not to use on a Christmas card. Layered with other fun pieces from the Christmas Cheer collection, this card is sure to send the holiday spirit.

Supplies: Christmas Cheer: (Pattern paper: Daily Details Christmas Cheer), Chipboard Icons, Paper Pieces Die Cuts

Check the Bella Blvd blog throughout the day as more inspiration pops up each hour.
