My Scraps and More {sketch challenge}

Today I am a guest sketch artist for the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog. Thanks, Audrey, for inviting me to lend a hand this month!

This is the sketch that I made, and below is the layout sample to inspire you to play along.

I also did a fun little Q&A over on the My Scraps & More site, so check that out, too.

Many of these great supplies can be found on the My Scraps & More shop, like the Elle's Studio - Good Cheer Joy and Peace and Elle's Studio - Good Cheer Star of Wonder

I also used my Scrapbook Circle We Are Made of Stories December kit.

Thanks for stopping by here today to see my layout and guest spot with My Scraps & More. Make sure to stop by their blog and play along with the sketch.

Sketch challenge {scrapbook circle}

As I often like to do in December, the sketch for Scrapbook Circle this month is a card sketch. Even if you don't make all of your Christmas cards, maybe there is one special person who would love a handmade card this holiday season.

The December We Are Made of Stories kit is filled to the brim with Christmas goodness. I also snagged the Favorite Elf add-on kit. I used the Pink Paislee 6x6 paper pad and Elle's Studio die cuts on this card.

If you get a chance to play along with this month's sketch challenge, the winner will receive a Heidi Swapp prize pack. Check out more inspiration and the rules for the challenge at the Scrapbook Circle blog.

Thanks for stopping here to see my card today.

Christmas Train {bella blvd}

Yesterday on the Bella Blvd blog, I shared this fun Christmas train. And yes, I'll admit I sang the songs from Polar Express pretty much the entire time I was making this.

For this week's project, I wanted to make something that would highlight the whimsy in the Christmas Cheer collection, and I think this accomplished it. The deer and penguin look so happy riding around with Santa in his train.

It would be fun to use this for a holiday decoration or even for giving a small gift. A gift card, small lotion or even jewelry would fit in the back of the train.

The studio file for this train can be found here, in case you would also like it.

Supplies: Christmas Cheer (Pattern paper: Christmas Crew, Jingle All The Way, Reindeer Games, Making Spirits Bright, Borders Christmas Cheer), Chipboard Icons, Trinkets

Thanks for stopping here today to see my festive train project!

Christmas ornament {fancy pants & tombow}

Today on the Fancy Pants Designs blog I'm sharing an ornament project for our swap week with Tombow. I used Tombow adhesive along with the little trees that are a part of the Fancy Pants Designs Oh Deer! collection.

Because I was sticking a wooden-based tree to a plastic round ornament, the Tombow Xtreme permanent adhesive was the best choice. It applied a layer of super sticky adhesive to the base of the tree, which worked much better than a wet glue would have.

After applying the adhesive, I used long-nosed pliers to drop the tree into the ornament. Then, one of my handy Tombow markers worked well to help straighten and position the tree.

Once the trees were all inside the ornament, I used the packaging from my Tombow adhesive to make a little funnel for pouring the glittery fake snow into the ornament.

Thanks for stopping by here today to see my ornament!

Hey, Santa {bella blvd}

Today on the Bella Blvd blog, some of the creative team members are sharing layouts that use this month's sketch. (You can see the sketch I used at the end of this post or on the Bella Blvd blog.)

I'm a big fan of sketches with only one photo, but when you also add a split background like this one does, I love it even more.

I recently snapped this photo of my boy with Santa Claus at the mall, so the Christmas Cheer collection was the perfect choice.

I love the traditional green and red color scheme for the holidays. I used a variety of stickers in the collection and some journaling to create the big title off to the side of the page.

Supplies: Christmas Cheer (Pattern paper: Borders Christmas Cheer, Daily Details Christmas Cheer, Happy Hearts), Treasures & Text stickers, Trinkets.

Here is the sketch that we used for this month.

Thanks for stopping by here today. You can see more examples with this sketch today on the Bella Blvd blog.

Thanksgiving centerpiece {fancy pants}

Today on the Fancy Pants Designs blog I am sharing some tips for assembling a pilgrim hat centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends. When you gather around the dinner table this year, impress your guests with a handmade centerpiece. I made a pilgrim hat using a Silhouette file and a variety of papers from Fancy Pants Designs. It was fun to make and my son is thrilled that we have this piece to show off for the holiday.

Stop by the Fancy Pants blog to see my tips for this project.

If you are celebrating this week, have a wonderful holiday filled with laughter and good times.

Fancy Pants Designs collections used: True Friend, Burlap and Bouquets, Everyday Circus, Foil Paper

Thankful for… {bella blvd}

Today on the Bella Blvd blog we are sharing projects that finish the sentence, "I am thankful for…"

For many of us, our family and friends are what we are most Thankful for. I snapped this photo of my son on my birthday — thankful that I had him to spend the day with and even doing one of my favorite activities: pumpkin picking.

Since he is the most important part of not only this layout, but also what I am thankful for, I printed the photo on a glossy piece of white card stock at 8.5" x 11". I wanted his presence to be larger than life on this page.

Supplies: Hello Autumn (Pattern paper: Falling into Fall, Gatherings, Daily Details Hello Autumn), Paper Pieces Die Cuts, Treasures & Text. Max: Treasures & Text. Lucky Starz: Treasures & Text.

Thanks for visiting here today. Stop by the Bella Blvd blog for more thankful projects.

Very Merry kit {scrapbook circle]

Scrapbook Circle is offering the Freckled Fawn Very Merry Embellishment Kit through the shop. It even comes with a fabulous clear pouch with gold stars!

Some of us on the creative team were too excited about the kit to wait for the holidays to begin using it. Here is a card I made that shows off the chipboard and snowflakes that are in the kit.

Make sure you get one for yourself before you start your December book or holiday cards!

Time for a well-dressed table, my friends! If you are celebrating Thanksgiving this month, get your turkey-themed items ready.

Today on the Samantha Walker blog, I'm sharing a quick tutorial on how I put this cute guy together. Stop on by the site and check it out.

You can find the Silhouette studio file I used here. And thanks for stopping by to see my turkey place card holder.

Halloween

I had a moment last week to create a "just-because" layout. I haven't done that in quite some time (my mojo seems to be on summer vacation still), so I'm thrilled with how this turned out.

Each year before Halloween the boy tries on his costume and we take posed photos. This year he was Harry Potter and loved having glasses and a wand for accessories. I love how this picture of him casting a spell turned out.

For my layout, I used a Silhouette file from Lori Whitlock for the house and the Halloween Magic collection from Bella Blvd

November sketch challenge {scrapbook circle}

Today on the Scrapbook Circle blog, I'm sharing this month's sketch challenge. Remember, you don't have to use a SC kit in order to play along and be eligible for this month's prize.

This is the page I made using the November kit: Little Moments and the sketch. I love the orange and greens for a fall layout. And it all went so well with this picture of the little man, too.

This month's prize is a Heidi Swapp prize pack. Check out the Scrapbook Circle blog for more details on playing along and submitting your layout for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by here today. Hope to see some of you playing along with the sketch. If you can't get to it this month, pin it for later.

Now for this month's theme: Thankful

For this month's theme I made a thank you card with a spin on Thanksgiving. I used the "give thanks" part of the Give Thanks Napkin Rings file from Samantha Walker.

Finishing off the card with gold washi tape and enamel dots, this card sparkles! I love the way the burgundy color pops against the gold.

Supplies: Samantha Walker — Give Thanks Napkin Rings
