shop goodies!

Hello! I have been working on my Etsy shop this week. I wanted to share with you some of the new items that are going to be posting or have already.

I do a lot of antique shopping at the local co-ops and gift shops. I have a weakness for buttons, thread, spools, notions and paper. But who doesn't, right?!

Here are some of the great new items arriving in my shop!

Thread on plastic spools

Vintage findings and modern fun

I also have been putting together some cute little kits. This first one was listed before but got a photo face lift. The other two are listed or about to be.

Artsy Urban kit (and it's on sale!)

Earth Love Cosmo Cricket kit

Hope something catches your eye! I also have more felt and paper flowers, button blooms and even some destash to post as well. Thanks for stopping by today!

sketchy thursdays and a new fave pic

Hello there! On the 4th of July, we went to the local spray park. Mostly because it was so dang hot, but also because it was a holiday, and we had to go somewhere! :)

I managed to get Nate to stand still long enough to get this picture of the two of us, and I love it! Sometimes those shots where you hold up the camera and turn it back on yourself are the best ones. My current favorite picture of my husband and I was taken like that, too.

This page is for the reveal of the latest Sketchy Thursdays sketch made by the amazing Heidi. It's a good one... scoot on by and check it out!

The materials for this page are from the August kit for Scrapbook Circle. So much fun and summer in this kit. You can literally feel the sunshine when you open the package. Not even kidding... :)

As far as I know, the kit isn't sold out, so when it goes live Aug 1, I would swing by and claim one for yourself. You know you have summer pics to scrap! Why not have the perfect papers to go with them?!

Thanks for stopping by!

scrapbook circle august reveal

Scrapbook Circle is ready to reveal the August kit for you! Last Thursday I shared with you one of my pages HERE. This kit is overflowing with bright colors, sunshine and summery images!

Here is a frame that I made with a mix of the Jillibean Soup and Fancy Pants papers from the kit.

The page below is made with mostly Fancy Pants materials. And I am in love with these American Crafts Thickers alphas. I rarely use glitter alphas, but these are awesome. I will hoard them for sure!

I also used a Page Maps July sketch. I'd never used Page Maps before, and I found the sketches there easy to use.

Check back on Thursday when I reveal my last page for the August kit. I, of course, used a Sketchy Thursdays sketch and will be revealing that page then.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope this kit has gotten you in the mood to capture those summer moments... and scrap them!

sketchy thursdays and scrapbook circle

Yep, I am THAT mother. You know... The one that makes her child do manual labor to earn his keep. Yep, that's me! :)

These pictures are from Nate on an allowance kick. He'd already cleaned up his toy area downstairs and organized his bins in his bedroom upstairs. Then he was looking for some more work so he could make a little bit more money.

I remembered my mother giving me and my brothers buckets of warm, soapy water to wash walls. So... here is Nate, carrying on the tradition! And honestly, he loved it.

This page is made with the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays (another great one, Heidi!!!!), and the August kit from Scrapbook Circle.

We aren't supposed to reveal until 8/25, but I know Lisa will understand that I just HAD to use the lemon paper and yellow lettering from the kit. They work so well with my soapy, lemon-scented, Mr. Clean pictures of my son. So, I just had to! :)

This page is also for the Scrap Freak GDT challenge: YELLOW! I always say this, but I mean it. The ladies over at Scrap Freak are super nice... you must hang out over there with us! There is honestly TOO MUCH to do over there. I can never fit it all in, and I always have the best intentions.

I hope to see you all playing along at Sketchy Thursdays. We have a wonderful sponsor this week: Sweet Peach Crop Shop. And I just know you're going to love what they are offering as a prize. So head on over there.

And the Sketchy Thursdays GDT challenge ends this Saturday. If you haven't entered yet there is still time!

It's that time again! By the beginning of next week, I'll be revealing my Scrapbook Circle August kit pages.

In case you can't tell by these sneaks, this kit is so perfect for all of the summer pictures you've been taking! Lots of yellows and reds to make your blue skies pop off the page!

Thanks for stopping by!!

making cards lately

Hi all! I have been on a bit of a card making binge, so here's one of my recent favorites. It was a custom card made for a customer of La Bella Mela Boutique—the local shop that carries my cards.

There will be one new mama to twin boys that receives this card.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I made a day trip to Ohio for a family reunion beach picnic. Nate battled the waves of Lake Erie for the first time and he loved it! I wish I could have bottled his laughter and yelling. He was so excited, it was funny.

Have a great week everyone!

who's that girl #13—ssshhhhhh!!!!

The Who's That Girl Challenge #13 is... "Shhhh...." Document something about yourself that you have not documented before and that ideally most people don't know about you or that only select people know about you. It can be something you just don't share with people at first, something only friends know, etc.

Here's my page for this month. Instead of sharing my "Sssshhhhh" I made the tutorial for this month instead. On the WTG blog I shared how to make this cute little window inside your layout by layering pages and journal spots.

Plus it was just too cute and fun to make a page without a picture that looked more like a giant card! Doesn't it look like a big card?! :)

I hope to see some of your secrets popping up on the WTG blog! We'd love to have you play along! Check out the full tutorial HERE on this post.

Supplies: October Afternoon (pp, sticker letters, journal spot), AC Thickers (lettering), Maya Road (chipboard), vintage lace, pearl buttons, embroidery floss, kraft paper.

this boy's gonna be trouble

It's Sketchy Thursdays day. And this week we are sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop. I used the Sports Arena Value Pack on my page.

I usually like to color in my digital stamps with ink, but the color pencil had a raw look to it that lent itself well to the grain in a wood baseball bat, don't ya think?!

These stamps were really easy to open, print and color. Very versatile—so take a peek at their shop!

One lucky winner this week over at Sketchy Thursdays is going to get a gift card to Digi Doodle Shop. Check out all of the details on the prize, the sponsor and to see the sketch!

And don't forget the GDT challenge at Sketchy Thursdays. You have a little more than one more week to try and win that yummy kit from Scrap Attack!!

my paper tree house reveal day!

It's about that time! Time to reveal the DT pages for the My Paper Tree House July kit. The kit is already sold out, but Nana is running a WONDERFUL special to get in on the August kit—including a sneak on what manufacturers you will be getting with that kit.

I totally recommend you check it out for yourself, but in the meantime, here are some of the details:
  • The price of a single kit will be $45 dollars.
  • 12-14 papers in each kit and MORE flowers, MORE bling, MORE ribbon, MORE buttons, MORE of basically all the things you ALL LOVE!!
  • If you sign up for a 3-month subscription, you will be able to get each kit for ONLY 39.99!!
  • If you sign up for a 3-month subscription you will be guaranteed to receive a kit with ADDED perks that the non-subscribers will not receive.
  • If you sign up for a 3-month subscription, you will be saving $20, and you will receive even more than $50 worth of retail.
Nana is also giving away a Cricut Expression. Check that out HERE.

I inked the edges of the white lettering with black ink, adding the same black detailing to the letters as is in the flowers from the paper. I think it really tied it all together pretty well.

This page is made with the July Sketch Inspiration from Scrap Freak. Check it out, there is still plenty of time to make a page using their sketch.

The picture on this page is of my mom, me and my sister. Mom looks so pretty in this picture, doesn't she?! Love you, Mom! I won't tell you her age, but I'm 32 so let's just say my mom obviously looks FABULOUS!! I hope I am half as lucky!

I'm so happy about this page. When I first saw this kit I was wondering how I was going to make any boy pages—so many flowers, so much girly for one kit! This black paper in the kit was perfect for my boys!

I had also made a fourth page, and you all saw that last Thursday. My Paper Tree House is sponsoring Sketchy Thursdays this week. Stop by and play for your chance to win a June MPTH kit and a July MPTH Add On kit. All of the details can be seen here, and the page I made can be seen here.

Whew.... that was a lot for one day! Hope you enjoyed seeing the MPTH July kit. Hope to see some of you get in on the discount and scoop up the next few kits for yourself!

And how cute is this reveal for Flying High! Love the clouds!

my paper tree house challenge

Hello! It's my first time to post the challenge at My Paper Tree House. It's a color challenge based on the colors in the July kit, which reveals this week on July 15.

I would absolutely love some of my bloggy friends to join along and play. My Paper Tree House is brand new and just beginning to gain momentum. I really don't want my challenge to flop, so a little begging, I believe, is in order... pleeeaaasssee!

You have the whole week to play along, and the prize will come from me. Those of you that have received prizes from me in the past know that I like to spoil winners. I can't wait to send someone a great little prize! :)

Thanks for stopping by here today, and I hope to see some of you over at My Paper Tree House!!

new love for my cricut and a challenge

Lucy's Cards Challenge #12 is to use buttons on a card... so here's my card! And yes, I am a compulsive button hoarder. I even have friends scoping out the great antique spots for me and bringing back the stash. (Thanks, Theresa!!!!) Gotta have the buttons!

I had fun breaking out the Cricut for this one. My favorite Cricut cartridge has always been New Arrival. I often have new baby or expectant mother cards to make, so it has always gotten a workout.

But, I just found a new favorite—the Sweethearts cartridge. It is chock full of great little pieces. Including the bubblegum machine I used in the card above. There are also umbrellas, dresses, scooters... it's officially adorable!

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog. If I have inspired you today, I hope that it is to dust off your Cricut and make something cute this weekend! Or break out the buttons! :)

sketchy thursdays and a sampling

It's time for another Sketchy Thursdays! The DT did a fabulous job with this week's sketch, so scoot on over and take a peek at what they did, too, with the new sketch.

This page is a picture of my dear sissy from her graduation party. She was just so dang cute and photogenic that day—grinning from ear-to-ear. I had to take a bunch of pictures of her, and I love this one.

This page is also made with the (ssshhhhh.....) My Paper Tree House kit for July. I'm being a rebel and showing off the wonderfulness just a smidge early. But who can wait, right?! I know when I got this kit I had to work with it right away!!

Don't forget to check out the latest Sketchy Thursdays sketch and to also mark July 15 on your calendars for the full reveal of the My Paper Tree House July kit.
