who's that girl, dreams and goals

Many of you know that I'm on the DT for Who's That Girl—an up-and-coming, all-about-me challenge blog run by the fabulous Jessica Bree.

Challenge #10 for you is Goals & Dreams - Make a list of things you hope to accomplish one day. Places to visit, things to see and do. Please include at least 5 items.

I went a bit further and realized that most of my dreams or goals include my husband, so I changed this to Who's That Couple?! LOL. A realignment of what my dreams are for my hubby and I. Always good to write these down from time to time.

My Top 5 are:
1. Live a long, happy life together
2. Raise a darling son.
3. Laugh everyday
4. Grow together.
5. Always be there for each other.

These are all biggies for us. We hope that we get as much time together in this life as possible. Our son just rocks... he is the center of us. We laugh as much as possible. Brad does a great job of putting humor in our life, he can just be so silly.

We try to grow together, and in the times where we were growing in opposite directions, we were able to meet again in the middle. In the bigger picture, he is totally there for me. And he reminds me everyday that he has my back on any decision I make no matter what.

This was the last of my four pages for Scrapbook Circle's June kit. And of course I still have a ton of supplies left, I always do with these kits—they're awesome! I'm going to get to working on a few more things to share with you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Trigger on a Friday

Happy Friday everyone! It's Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S., so it's a bit of a holiday weekend. Or in my case, three and a half days to create! :)

Today I'm playing along with Cath and the Moxie Fab blog's current Tuesday Trigger, which is awesome this week. I love the colors, the linear look and feel, and the tiny little embellies. So cute! I had about a dozen ideas and ended up going with the card above.

Tuesday Trigger challenge

Now that you've seen the Tuesday Trigger, why not jump on in and play along? Thanks for stopping by today!! Enjoy the weekend!!

Supplies: This card was made using the My Paper Tree House June kit.

sketchy thursdays love

My partner in crime, Heidi, has done it again! Another fab-o sketch is ready for you over at Sketchy Thursdays, and she rocked this one! I am particularly partial to the 3-photo layout, so I think she made this sketch especially for me. Didn't you, Heidi? LOL.

These pictures were taken at "the good playground." You know, the one that's just a bit further from your house and is a treat to go to. I know we all have one of those!

One thing I love about my little man is that he really does like to get his picture taken. He loves having the pictures just as much as I do, and he loves to look back at photos we've taken. He makes it all just so easy!

This page is another one I made using the Scrapbook Circle June kit. So far you've seen bright reds and blues, these teals and yellows are gorgeous, and I still have black and pink to show you. ALL IN ONE KIT! Yahoo!! Get in on it! Check out Scrapbook Circle and let Lisa know you want the June kit.

Thanks for stopping by today. Check out Sketchy Thursdays for the latest sketch from Heidi and to see what yummy prize you are playing for a chance to win this week.

our little family

Hi there, peeps! Thanks for stoppin' in today. This page is made with the June kit from Scrapbook Circle. I am loving this shaped paper!

And really loving all of the little die cuts and extras that come in the June kit. I dumped it all out onto my desk and couldn't stop sifting through it with each page I made. I'm tellin' ya... if you were ever looking for a kit with non-stop embellishments, this is the kit for you!

This picture was taken a couple weekends ago when we went to see Thomas The Train. He rolled into a town near us, and even though I thought my son may be over Thomas, he still loves trains. We scooped up Grandma and Papa and off we went.

It really was a great outing. If you have a toddler and Thomas comes by your town, you really should check it out.

I also made this page using another one of Ms. Kristy's fab-o sketches at Design Dollies. Whenever I get a chance to play over there, I just have to! They also run elements and color challenges, but I just can't seem to play along with the challenges like that (sorry, girls!). I'm more of a sketch and prompt gal!

Thanks for stopping in today! Of course, I will be showing off the Scrapbook Circle June kit all week!! :)

my little man turned 4!

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that most of my scrapping is centered around my only son, Nate. This past Saturday, Nate turned four, and I absolutely can't believe it! I've been warned that time flies, but you truly don't understand that statement until you've watched your child grow.

The pictures on this page are from Nate's birthday this weekend. My poor little man wasn't feeling well. He complained of a sore throat and had an on-again, off-again fever for most of the weekend, but he plowed through. He's been so excited for his birthday, nothing was going to stop him from getting his celebration!

Nate chose his own cake and decorations. He picked a triple chocolate cake, white whipped frosting and a Spider Man themed party. We had my husband's parents, my best friend and her little family join us on Saturday for dinner and cake. With Nate not feeling well, the small little party we had planned worked out perfectly.

And the Spider Man cake and cupcakes perked him right up!

I made this page using the June kit from Scrapbook Circle. This kit is amazing! There are some very bright and then also very feminine items in this kit, and they all work so well together.

Over the next few days I'll be sharing my work from that kit with you. Again, if you haven't tried a Scrapbook Circle kit, you are missing out! Lisa truly knows what she's doing when she puts these kits together.

I also used the May Sketch from Scrap Freak for the layout. Scoot on over there for inspiration galore!!! There is always more to do over there than I can find time for.

Thanks for stopping in today! Check back in all week as I introduce the Scrapbook Circle June kit for you!!

double the fun

YAY, my first double-page layout in what I'm sure is three years. Not quite sure why I stopped making them, but I will definitely be making more of these!

This page goes with the 5.20 sketch for Sketchy Thursdays. (Would I post anything else on a Thursday? *grin*)

I love these pictures from Easter at my in-laws house. Nate has so much fun opening his eggs after he hunts from them. Each little toy is as big as a giant present to him. In these pictures he'd opened an egg with fishing bobbers, one with chocolate, and one with a Jessie toy from Toy Story. That was the one that got that huge grin. He LOVES Toy Story!

Sorry this post is so pic-heavy. I just loved so much about this page. I felt like I had three times as many corners to cover and edges to embellish! So fun!

Like I've said before: I love making my own flowers! The ones on these two pages are some of my favorites so far.

In addition to using the sketch for Sketchy Thursdays, I also used the Creative Type Prompt #31 to use type rub-ons. The journal spot above the word EASTER is filled with nearly a whole sheet of Daisy Bucket word rub-ons that I had been saving. Though not font, the blue bubbles rub-on was also one I had been hanging onto from K&Co.

I also used a challenge at Scrap Freak: May Class - Be Inspired #11 Fashion Colors. If you aren't playing along at Scrap Freak you're missing out on some wonderful inspiration! Hope to see you over there!

Thanks for stopping by here today! :)

An update to yesterday's post: I did list a few of the items from yesterday to my Etsy shop. More will be added very soon. Thanks so much to everyone who purchases the flowers I make or kits I put together. I truly enjoy making them, and I'm glad they are given a good home!

wordless wednesday

I've been busy! This is only about half of what I've been up to this week. One of my "summer resolutions" is to pay more attention to my little Etsy shop. Everything pictured here (and more) will be available in my shop within the next week.

I'm even sponsoring a challenge in a few weeks; I've never done that before! (So fun to be on the other side of the sponsorship!)

Hope you enjoyed the little preview! Thanks for stopping by today!!

happiness is...

Who's That Girl is live with another challenge for you! The "who" in my page is my mother-in-law. I took this picture of her and Nate on Easter, and when I saw the prompt for this challenge, I just knew it was meant for this picture.

Happiness to my MIL is definitely time spent with her only grandson. My husband is an only child, and we're all set having kids, so Nate is most definitely spoiled! And he knows it, too.

Who's That Girl would love to know what your Happiness Is... You can be funny, serious or all out crazy about how you illustrate this concept. Any way you choose to tackle it, we want to see it! Make sure to link up your creation in the comments section at Who's That Girl so we can see what you make and leave you some love!

My tip to share with you about this page is in making the flower. I used Webster's Pages Bloomers. I cut off only one bloom and some of what is off to the side of it. I tucked the side pieces under and affixed the glue dots to hold it together and also to hold it to the page.

Then... and here's the neat trick... I trimmed it. It was kind of wild and deep, so I just cut some of the bloom off of it. It shaped pretty well and allowed for the chipboard circle piece I put in the middle to show better. Try that next time you are working with the floral ribbon like this.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! And I hope to see you over at Who's That Girl!!!

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket (pp, chipboard, stickers), K&Co. (letters), Webster's Pages (bloomers), Jillibean Soup (journal spots)

my favorite books

I was so excited to hear from Julie that I was going to be the May's Guest Designer for These Are a Few of My Favorite Things. So excited! Not only are the girls on the team FABULOUS, but I adored the prompts that she sent me, too.

I used to be a serious bookworm. I have since channeled most of that energy and time into scrapbooking, but I do always have a book on my nightstand. The book I'm reading now is more than 700 pages, so it has been there for quite a bit! Oops! :)

For my list of favorite books, I only listed five. Obviously there are more, but these are ones that I would recommend or read again. They are:
1. The Time Traveler's Wife (Audrey Niffenegger)
2. The Space Between Us (Thrity Umrigar)
3. Grapes of Wrath (John Steinbeck)
4. The Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini)
5. Water for Elephants (Sara Gruen)

In the picture, you can see the giant book I am reading now, The Hour I First Believed. I'm a fan of Wally Lamb and ordered the book without even considering how long it was. Yikes! But it is good.

This page was so fun to make! I hope you'll join us at TAAFOMFT, I'd love to see what books are your favorites! Leave some book suggestions here, too! I'd love to see what everyone else is reading!

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Core'dinations (card stock), Cosmo Cricket (chipboard, pp, letter stickers), Ruler ribbon (Etsy), Stamp ({ippity}), Background paper (found vintage dictionary), Stickers (Studio Calico and October Afternoon), Punch (Martha Stewart), Paperclip (Stampin Up)

my love for handmade flowers

Some of you know that I really like to make my own embellishments, especially paper flowers. Throw a button in and vióla... perfection!

I've been cooking up some pages that I can't share with you quite yet, but I just had to sneak peek some of the handmade goodness! (And it's been a slow posting week for me, so I am going through withdrawal! lol)

And judging by this arrangement of pictures, I'm apparently really into teal right now! :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead of them!

so ready for s'more summer!

Gotta love Thursdays! It's time for another Sketchy Thursdays sketch. Here is the page I made for this week's reveal. I'm so ready for it to be summer. We actually had snow fall here this past weekend. SNOW! The week before that it was sunny and warm, so we were all set for summer to hit... nope! It's been mid-50's all week. I'd much rather be looking forward to camping and summertime fun!

The Design Team for Sketchy Thursdays was lucky enough this week to get to work with stickers from SRM Stickers. I was very pleased with the quality of the stickers, as well as how many come on each sheet. For my page, I used the Camping stickers and the Explore stickers.

I hope you all get a chance to stop by Sketchy Thursdays and find time to play along this week. One random winner is going to receive a generous prize package from SRM Stickers. But you can't win if you don't play!

Scoot on over to Sketchy Thursdays to see what the sketch is this week and what the DT did with it. There are great pages this week!

wordless wednesday

I couldn't let a third day go by without posting anything!

I love this picture I took of a tulip in my garden. And I love it because this is the raw image from my point-and-shoot. No editing at all.

How great is it that it is this pretty and vibrant all on its own?! Nature—at it's best!

So how is everyone's week so far?!
